Much to my surprise and appreciation, I woke up on Sunday, December 18, 2011 and my water had broke. I didn't think I was having any contractions but I was, they were just very small. Now let me remind you, my due date was January 11th and I was scheduled for a C-section on January 4th. We called the hospital and they said to come up, we were having a baby today! Luckily I'm a planner and with Christmas very close at hand I didn't want to have to worry about baby things while my family was here so I had most things already ready. I was also 99% ready for Christmas, all good things :) After they determined my water had broke, they paged the doctor on-call, not mine of course, and he came right down. At 12:06 pm he delivered a Beatuiful Baby GIRL!!
Cymber Fey Hill was 6 pounds and 1 1/4 ounces and 19 inches long, and C-section perfect of course :)
After her first bath, they
found this cute beanie for her.
Getting ready to go for a walk down the hall.
After receiving a few pictures by text, Aunt Krystal just couldn't resist coming up to see her. It was worth the drive :)
You can't have baby this close to Christmas and not have some fun with the camera :) She is actually inside her Christmas stocking.
Everyone wanted their turn to help get her dressed or changed or hold her or anything they could. They are all pretty proud big brothers and sisters!
This was the first time in 5 kids that Terry was able to spend the night in the hospital and help me. It was great for me but I think it really was nice for him to have bonding time since he's going to be away from her for the whole month of January.
Aunt Haylee and her kids arrived only 2 days before Cymber and Aunt Paij and her kids only the night before. It was SOOOOOO great that they were here. They were the unexpected babysitters and got to make a few trips up to visit us. It was so great for our kids to have their fun cousins to keep them busy while mom and dad were away. They really saved the day! If Cymber wouldn't have been early the Davis' would have missed her completely.
I was released to go home on the morning of the 21st but Cymber was not. She had lost too much weight because my milk hadn't come in yet. She was down to only 5 lbs and 5 oz. Of course that day my milk came in and we were able to get her up to 5 lbs 8 oz by the next day and they let us go home. "And all with boobie milk" says her doctor who had ordered me to give her formula, but I refused, I knew it was just because the milk hadn't come.
I was pretty depressed that we couldn't go home and join in on all the festivities going on with out us but Grandma came to the rescue. She made quite a few trips up and brought lots of treats and Christmas cheer. It really helped my mood!
When April heard we were having Cymber, she rushed right up. She took lots of pics of her in the nursery but had to leave before I was even out of recovery. She did make it back up later since we were there for so long. We can't wait for her to have her baby (any time) so she and Cymber can be friends!
