Hair cut time!!

Kasen turned one so I thought it was time for a hair cut. Dad wanted his cut so since it was all out, I went for it. Notice how it grown in a mowhak and is very shaggy around his ears. This is before! He had to be stripped for quick bath entry after and then I tried to hold him while I did it but that was rather unsuccessful so after dad got a picture or two, he held him for the duration.
All in all, he held pretty still and was pretty happy through it all. My two men in their new dues. Dumb mom didn't remember to keep any of the hair for the scrapbook though, not that there was much there anyway but it sure made a big difference.
He looks so old without the wispy baby hair. I'm kind of going to miss the mowhak and everyone calling him a cupie doll.

Our friend Julia Turned 5

We were invited to join Queen Julia at Olivia's Doll House Tea Room in Carmichael and it was the dream of every little girl! This was the sign outside and all of the kids from the party.
Above is momma April dancing with darling little sister Alyssa. The owners put on makeup and did the hair of all the girls after they picked out the dress and shoes of their choice. Tyden had about 5 suit coats and ties to choose from as well as a few hats and shoes. Below is Tayla in the makeup area.

Cypress with dress choice number one but not the final choice.
Tyden got a little silly while he was waiting for all the girls to get ready.

After they were all ready they put on a fashion show for the parents while they were introduced and their outfit choices explained.

Then they all posed on the stool for pictures that were quickly printed and sent home with you.

Queen Julia on her thrown calling her servent with a bell (this was a little over abused because it was way to fun to ring).

Cypress and Tyden eating their lovely lunch of PB&J, mini cheese pizza, hot dogs on a tooth pick, and the highlight - Juice in your own teapot.
A fabulous time was had by all! Thanks April and Jed!!

ARTSY FARTSY

Cypress was in an art class at the Park and Rec center everyday for a week. She had a great time and made lots of fun projects. At the end of the last day they had an art show that they had made invitations for. We all went to see what they created and had cookies and lemonade. It was very fun!

Wildlife

Our friends parents deliver hay to a wildlife refuge in Durahm about 30 min away and they got us a personal tour of all the animals. THey start in the reptile house and tell you about them and you get to touch them. Above is Kasen and I with the bearded dragon and below is Tayla and Julia with a lizard whos exact name escapes me.

This is an albino ball python that was about 9 feet long and can get upto 25 feet long. I passed on touching that one!

THis is a lion and of course when we were supposed to be watching the lizards he was walking around and roaring but when we were looking at him, he was napping. They do sleep 19-22 hours a day though. He was really this close to us (about 6 feet and 2 fences).
This mountain lion can be found around here. She's pretty scary. We also saw a liger (yes liger not tiger), white tigers, panthers, birds, dear, and lots more. If you are in the area, I really reccomned a trip by.

4th of July

THe night before all of our kids were thowing up all through the night so none of us got much sleep. Unfortuantely Terry woke up with it so his favorite holiday was spent on the couch or the toilet. The rest of us started off the day at the park for a nice little tribute to the flag and then a nice breakfast.
The we drove over to Biggs for the Parade. Not the largest but pretty nice and the kids got candy. they watched from the curb and I watched from the car for a while until I fell asleep from the long night.

We all had a great BBQ at moms and swimming with family and the Roberts. No one else that was supposed to come came because of sickness (some theirs, some scared of ours).

We moved into the usual sparkler party before heading to Biggs for the real fireworks.

The kids enjoyed their glowsticks whilel we hung out on our sleeping bag waiting for the fireworks to begin.

We did drag Terry to these fireworks but he did appreciate all the mosquitoes. We had to opt out of the after party at Trevors because it was so late and Ter was still sick. They did save more stuff for us to do the next day at moms and it was great!

Post party

After the cake and presents, Kasen played in the pool until he was so tired he was going to fall over.

Aunt Krystal helped him get dried off and ready for a nap. He didn't even take a bottle and passed out for over 2 hours. But, as soon as he woke up, he went right back into the pool, new clothes and new toys and all.
After the party was all cleaned up and over, we had our annual school's out Tiki Party for the kids. They each make their own pizza and wore their leis and had Tiki Sunrises to drink.
It was a great day for everyone.

Kasen's Party

We were going to have the party in our backyard and we cleaned it up all week but it ended up that it was supposed to be 107 that day so we decided to have it at the Hunters where there was more room for people inside a cool house and a swimming pool to cool off. I made invitations at Wal-mart.com but I forgot to pick them up when I went there and then Charmayne picked other pics I had there instead of the invites on accident, so they never got out. At least I have one for the scrapbook though. We had lots of good food, thanks Grandpa for BBQing for us.We had a wadding pool set up for the littler kids but the big "kids", Dad included, couldn't help but play in it too. Tom apparantly needed to cool off.
Kasen was fun with all of his presents, except that he wanted to play with them and not keep opening. Thanks to everyone for the great gifts, we really appreciate it!!
I made a sandcastle cake for now particular reason but Kasen does like to play with the toys and did have a great time playing in the sand when we went to the beach. The sand is grahm crackers. The shovel was his individual cake to eat.
He loved everyone singing to him again. I was telling him that he needed to blow out the candle while the song waited.
He was so happy to ablidge. He blew it out all on his own and everyeone was very excited, it made the end of the song so much better. He didn't understand why we all got so excited.

He picked at the cake for a little bit and posed for many pictures but eventually he did stick his face in the cake.

Kasen's Real B-day

Since he didn't know the difference anyway, we didn't really do anything for his real B-day but the other kids were singing to him in his face all day and I was making the cakes for his party so we decided to sing for real and give hime a cupcake. He was very intreaged by the candle and the attention. He thoroughly enjoyed the cupcak and ate everybit.
Everyone was very entertained and he didn't mind putting on a show!

The girls thought it looked so fun to be all messy eating that they decided to join in.

Hunter Family Reunion

This year Uncle LaMont was in charge so we went to Caswell Park near Manteca. The weather wasn't too bad, the company was great, food was great and it was fun for all. This was the first year in a while that all the brothers and sister were there with their spouses. I totally blame Calvin for the overexposure of this picture. He told me I had to leave the flash open so their wouldn't be shadows. I sure hope someone else got a better one.
Great times were had by all at the river. The tempurature was great!

What's a family reuion without a good old game of waterballoon volleyball! Great fun for all ages. After we moved into the waterballoon toss.

They asked each family to come with a craft so we brought paint and painted faces, when we were done, they kids took the paint and painted each others arms, legs, and what ever else anyone would let them paint.

My baby the punkrocker with his mowhawk and tribal band.
